WSFF On Tour 2024
Congratulations on your film being chosen to be a part of the Wild & Scenic Official Selections of 2024! For some of the films featured at Wild & Scenic, this is just the beginning. Over the next two years, Wild & Scenic On Tour will travel the globe with 150 events annually (and counting!) and reach more than 30,000 people.
HOW IT WORKS: Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a program of the environmental nonprofit, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL); we aim to share our successful film festival with other grassroots organizations worldwide. Wild & Scenic On Tour partners with environmental groups, nature centers, nonprofits, museums, universities, etc. as a way for local organizations to reach out into their community to bring people together using film to inspire activism. Hosting partners keep all proceeds from events to fund their conservation work.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: Each hosting organization builds a custom film program for their event and each time your film is selected and screened at an On Tour event, we pay you a screening fee. You may choose to donate your royalties back to SYRCL to help further support the work we do year-round. Twice a year, you will receive a list of all the places your film was shown. You can also search for your film on wildandscenicfilmfestival.org/films to find out when and where your film will be screening.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- To maximize exposure of your film, we will include it On Tour for two years (until February 2026)
- Each On Tour host builds their own film program from our menu of 150+ films. There is no guarantee that your film will be selected. Payment is only made when the film is selected by an On Tour host and screened.
- We provide each On Tour host with your email address as contact information. Often, the hosts reach out to filmmakers with an invitation to attend their event or for radio/print interviews. Participation is at your discretion.
- Your film will be uploaded to a secure website for previewing only by the On Tour host organizations.
- Royalty payments are based upon the length of your film and range from $10/screening for films under 5min to $45 for feature length screenings
