Subjects: Bernard Yin & Rebecca Ramirez
Bernard Yin and Rebecca Ramirez are not your average musicians. They are also passionate fly fishing anglers and conservationists who are advocating for the protection of Southern California’s endangered Steelhead trout. Their film Don’t Doubt the Trout, produced and directed by Isabela Zawistowska will screen at this year’s festival. They have been recognized and recruited in the field by CalTrout, Trout Unlimited, the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains, the US Forestry Service, and are Patagonia Fly Fish and NRS ambassadors.
Their band, Par Avion, is a fresh indie-surf trio delivering breezy melodies and coastal vibes with a modern twist. The band’s sound captures the essence of endless summer days and Pacific adventures. Par Avion’s music is featured prominently in the film and will be performing live for the festival’s closing party on Sunday the 16th. On drums is none other than Patagonia alpine ambassador Timmy O’Neill. The group just returned from a live performance at a Conserva Puchegüín event in Chile hosted by Patagonia.
