Artist Statement
Humans’ futile attempt at controlling nature through deed ( gardening, in one case) or thought, is the theme of this submission. Natures’s rejuvenative power to assert itself in the face of destruction ,and disease is celebrated. Tomato Tangle is a ground up view of the “will” of this common garden vegetable. Inside is the New Outside portrays our desire to internalize nature. Both are homage to the power of nature.
