Producer: Fathima Gaston

Fathima Gaston is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, science journalist, and creative producer with over a decade of experience in storytelling at the intersection of human rights and visual media. Beginning her career in South Africa, Fathima produced documentaries highlighting healthcare inequities, earning several national journalism awards, including the countries Vodacom Journalist of the Year award. After moving to the U.S., Fathima joined Change.org, where she set creative content strategies to bolster social activism campaigns, including her work on the George Floyd Hologram Project, which earned her team an Anthem Award. She now serves as Global Editorial Producer at Wildlife Works, focusing on community-centered solutions to deforestation. Fathima is a Wellcome Trust Fellow, holds a Masters degree in Science Journalism from City, University of London, and a Bachelor of Journalism (Hons) from Rhodes University.
