Get to Know WSFF On Tour

Since 2005 the On Tour program has brought Wild & Scenic films to communities all over the country. With 100+ Wild & Scenic On Tour events a year our programming now reaches over 30,000 people annually via partnering with land trusts, waterkeepers, schools, and other NGOs. In 2023 WSFF helped host organizations raise over $800,000 for their organizations and communities!

We are always on the lookout for new potential On Tour hosts to join us, especially in locations we don’t already have a presence. Help us continue to spread inspiration around the country while supporting SYRCL’s work by connecting us with the community organizers you know. Watch the video below to learn a bit more about the program.

The WSFF On Tour program has a range of options to fit the needs of your organization and community. There are a variety of pre-curated plug and play topical program with themes about water, adventure, or representation in the outdoors. Or, you can choose to create a custom program, picking from our library of 150+ films to create an engaging film session tailored to your community and the topics relevant to them and your organization’s work. Our beloved WSFF School Programs tour as well, with grade specific film programs available to our On Tour film festival hosts as well as schools, camps and other youth programs all around the country.

We know there are a number of great touring film fest options out there to choose from. So what sets Wild & Scenic apart? As a production of the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, a 501c3, waterkeeper, and 1% for the planet partner) we know what it means to be a small nonprofit organization doing big work with a small yet mighty team. Every day we go to work alongside SYRCL’s team of scientists doing environmental conservation and restoration work. In fact, WSFF was named in honor of SYRCL’s successful campaign to achieve state Wild & Scenic status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River. We know the challenges you face and how to meet them together.

With WSFF On Tour, hosts receive full support throughout the booking and event planning process via access to our expert staff and extensive online resources. No need to worry about licensing and royalties, WSFF takes care of all the details like that, reducing staff time and leaving you more time to choose the program and market the event. We provide event planning timelines, email guidance and reminders, toolkits on sponsorship and marketing, advice on film programming, as well as marketing graphics support for a multitude of platforms and outlets. Additionally we provide promotion through our website and social media channels, opportunities to customize your event with custom trailers, local film additions, and so much more.
