“Underground” explores the genre of dark fantasy, to tell a story about nature, the cycle
of life and ourselves. What looks like death is actually the beginning of life, and what looks
like darkness is nothing but the discovery of light.

Yiannis Christoforou is an awarded Cypriot filmmaker based in Athens. He is a Berlinale talent campus Alumina and a Filmmaking graduate from NYU—SCE. He also received a scriptwriting scholarship masterclass from the Script Factory in London, during the Göteborg's film Festival educational programs.
To this date, he has directed and produced a few short films that have participated in festivals around the world. Yiannis also works extensively in the animation filed and has directed commercially and artistically acclaimed projects including commission work.
In 2018 founded Decoy images, a production company which offers audiovisual content of high quality and aesthetics. He is a member of the Directors Guild of Greece, and ASIFA Hellas.
