Big Sur has been called the world’s greatest meeting of land, sea, and sky, but whoever said that clearly forgot about another essential element: the fog. The rugged coast and dramatic mountains running steeply into the ocean have a dynamic relationship with the marine layer, which pushes, rolls, and flows like a second sea into the Santa Lucia Mountains. If you can get above it, it’s a magical show to witness. This film was created with gratitude to the many people and organizations who have fought for decades to preserve Big Sur’s public lands.
