The Day the Levee Broke is a documentary about the 1986 flood, which devastated Yuba County, California. As we approach the 40th anniversary of this tragic event on Feb. 20th, we look back at the impact the flood had, not just on Yuba County, but on the entire state of California, and the many improvements that have been made since that day to reduce the risk of catastrophic flooding in one of California’s smallest and poorest counties.
