“There is a saying, ‘God willing,’ but on the island you say ‘Island willing,’ as if the island were an entity….” Island Willing is a portrait of Chile’s remote Robinson Crusoe Island—home to more endemic species per square kilometer than the Galápagos—and of the community fighting to protect its culture of stewardship amid mounting outside pressures.

Cece King (Writer, Director, Producer, and Director of Photography)
Cece King is a filmmaker born and raised in New York City interested in the intersection of
international politics and daily life. She recently finished her debut 30-minute film Island Willing
(Si la Isla Quiere). She was a 2025 Documentary Resident at the Woodstock Film Festival
Filmmaker Incubator. Previously, she served as Archival Coordinator on Gurinder Chadha’s
upcoming Christmas Karma at the personal request of Chadha (“Bend it Like Beckham”) and
producers Celine Rattray (“The Kids are Alright”) and Stephen Jones (“Gravity”). She regularly
collaborates with Emmy-nominated producer Debi Wisch and has worked with journalist Liz
Plank. A former John Lewis Scholar and Congressional honoree, Cece graduated Summa Cum
Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth with a degree in Geography and Arabic and is currently
developing her first feature documentary.
Elsa Hana Chung (Producer and Writer)
A NYC-based filmmaker who has held roles at Florentine Films, Nine Stories Productions, and
Cinetic Media. She was Associate Producer on Christie Herring’s Singing for Justice, which
aired on 345 PBS channels and has screened at festivals including the United Nations
Association Film Festival. She is Associate Producer on Diego Lanao’s NYC-set romantic
comedy You Can Do Better, which is in post-production and has been tracked by Deadline. A
Columbia University Film & Media graduate with Phi Beta Kappa distinction, Elsa is an alum of
the Ghetto Film School, NYU’s Future Filmmakers Program, and the British American Drama
Academy. In 2025, she joined the NBCUniversal Creative Impact Lab as a Producing
Apprentice and is developing her experimental narrative feature Frankenstein. She currently
works in international sales at All3Media International.
Camilla Marchese González (Co-Producer and Writer)
A writer and producer from Guatemala, she is passionate about character-driven global
narratives. Her short films have screened at the Athena Film Festival, and she received
Columbia University's Howard Teichmann Writing Prize for her senior thesis. She previously
worked in development and production at Archer Gray, Ryder Picture Co. and Closer Media.
She worked on Latin American cinema distribution at Cinema Tropical. She holds a degree in
English and Film Studies from Barnard College. Camilla is currently pursuing an MFA in
Creative Writing at The New School.
