CWE is an indigenous-led multimedia initiative to amplify local voices in the global discourse and to formulate a viable collective response to the global challenge of climate change. ‘Tofiga O Pili Aau’ features the initiatives of vulnerable coastal communities in Samoa to mitigate the impacts of climate change on their environment, livelihoods and infrastructure. The film was devised, planned, filmed, directed and in all other ways undertaken by a group of 12 community representatives from eight villages on Savai-i and Upolu islands, during a workshop held in the villages of Fasito’otai and Gaga’emauga.
