On November 13, 2025, join the Corvallis Environmental Center at the beautiful, historic Whiteside Theater for their Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour Event. There, filmgoers will experience inspiring films played on the big screen, accompanied by a sound system that makes them feel like they are part of the film.
Local Wild and Scenic filmmakers will be attending this event and will be answering audience questions from the stage just after intermission.
This event brings together people who care deeply about nature and are actively working in their community to bring about a more sustainable future. They will have local drinks available for their guests from Block 15 Brewing and 2 Towns Cider. They will also have a raffle at intermission, and many of their Fall Harvest Online Auction items will be on display.

The Corvallis Environmental Center (CEC) is a 501c3 nonprofit that was founded in 1994 as a grassroots effort to take action on a number of environmental issues. For over 30 years, the CEC has been one of the keystones of their local community. Through programs focused on environmental literacy, food and farming education, and local food security, the CEC has established itself as a regional leader in the environmental movement.
Their mission is to educate, engage, and inspire people to create a healthy, sustainable community through food & agriculture education, and nature & play-based learning.

For over 20 years, the Corvallis Environmental Center’s preschool program at the Avery House Nature Center has striven to facilitate a deep connection between students and their environment through engaging and playful nature activities outdoors.
CEC also offers summer camps for kids ages 5-12, getting kids outside, in the dirt, and with their peers. They have something for everyone from making pizza in their cob oven, biking, floating, learning about animals, and more.
Their Dunawi Creek Community Garden is located in Bruce Starker Arts Park. This 2-acre garden hosts nearly 100 community garden plots, a native plant garden, and shared small-fruit area.
Additionally, through their “Food for Families” program, they donate over 5000 lbs of food made up of over 50 varieties of fruits and vegetables to enhance food security in Corvallis.

Karen DeWolfe, Outreach Coordinator for the Corvallis Environmental Center, says, “All proceeds from the WSFF help fund our Food for Families program, growing food at our education garden (SAGE) for people most in need in our community, and our youth scholarship program – connecting young people to nature. The mission of the Corvallis Environmental Center is to educate, engage, and inspire people to create healthy, sustainable community through food and agriculture education, and nature & play-based learning. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival films share stories from our region and around the world that mirror our mission. Not only do these stories inspire us to continue taking action in our own community, I think these stories help us know that we are part of a larger, global movement working together to solve environmental issues.”
When asked what her favorite thing about putting on this event is, Karen replied, “My favorite thing about putting on this event is seeing 300 people come together for our Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour Event, hearing the inspired conversations that result from experiencing these films, and knowing that people leave this film festival ready to continue working towards a sustainable future for all.”
