Call for Film Submissions

Don’t Just Make a Film… Make a Difference.

Film submissions are now open for Wild & Scenic Film Festival 2020 and we are looking for the best and brightest environmental and adventure films from around the globe to showcase during next year’s festival and On Tour program.

At SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival, we present environmental and adventure films that illustrate the earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action.

Environmental Films
Wild & Scenic accepts documentary films with an environmental theme including animation, shorts, and features. We look for environmental films that are entertaining, educational, and above all inspirational. We want our audiences to be inspired to make a difference in their communities and world.

Adventure Films
Wild & Scenic screens entertaining and inspiring adventure films from all over the world. Topics include climbing, mountaineering, surfing, and more. A special preference is given to adventure films with an environmental focus.

Student Films
Are you a student filmmaker? We encourage you to submit your environmental and adventure films. We accept documentaries, animation, kids’ films, shorts, and even music videos. Your films should be informative, engaging, and inspiring. Create an environmental or adventure film to be considered for screening and eligible for awards.

If your film is invited to be a part of the 2020 Wild & Scenic Film Festival Official Selection, you will be treated like the VIP that you are! You will receive a variety of perks which include:

• Complimentary ticketing and lodging
• Exposure and networking opportunities with other filmmakers, distributors, and press
• Entry to VIP Lounge and exclusive party invitations
• Eligibility for Wild & Scenic Jury Awards
• Opportunity to be selected for screenings nationally in our On Tour Program
• Participate in an event that inspires thousands of people and raises funds and awareness for SYRCL’s initiatives to recover California’s wild salmon and to protect and restore the Yuba River watershed.

You will have an opportunity to speak about your film each time it screens. After the festival, your film may be eligible for Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour which travels to 250 locations throughout the United States and internationally.

Attending the festival is a wonderful opportunity to meet other filmmakers and be a part of a growing movement to not only protect the planet but also generate solutions and inspire activism.
