Artist Statement

I am an emerging artist and teacher in Reno, Nevada. These images are from a series of pen and ink drawings titled “The ABCs of Xtinction” that focus on conservation and endangered species. Author Joanna Macy says we must confront and transmute our grief into constructive, loving action. While the culmination of this series will be hopeful, it was not made with the “Currents of Hope” theme in mind. My goal is to move my audience with images of devastation to committed grassroots activism.
