Artist Statement
Hope is about embracing the energy of the world in which we live. It’s about constant creation. I am happiest and most hopeful when I can spend most of my day outdoors. That is when I feel truly grounded and connected to the world. Yet I am also drawn to revisit and recreate that experience in my studio. Painting nature is about two things: intensely observing it and resonating with its inherent energy. My favorite works are those that rekindle the thrill I felt in a unique place and time.
