At SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival, we showcase environmental and adventure films that illustrate the earth’s beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action. Our 19th annual event will occur January 14-18, 2021 in Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA.
During these challenging times of COVID-19 we are more committed than ever to the power of film and its ability to inspire and transform, to heal and unite us, to highlight our resilience, and to give us hope. We welcome the submission of shorts and features about nature, community activism, conservation, intentional adventure, health, water, energy, climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, food, and farming. Our objective is to inform, inspire, and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation, all through stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography, and first-rate storytelling. While all films will be considered, we are especially interested in films that interpret our theme this year, “Resilient by Nature”
